Fine Gael Deputy Ciaran Cannon has welcomed a commitment by Failte Ireland and the National Parks and Wildlife Service to make a major investment in upgrading the Coole Park Visitor Centre.

A guided walk introducing participants to the delights of Coole Park is among the events taking place at Coole during Heritage Week. The walk, which takes place from 11am to 12.30pm today, will take in the history of the park, its wildlife, landscape, and the walled garden.

Culture Night is Ireland’s national celebration of culture, creativity and the arts. It takes place all over Galway city and county on Friday 21st September and sparkles well into the night. From Bofin to the Bridge of Banagher, from Bearna to Ballybane and beyond, dozens of entrancing, beguiling and enjoyable events are talking place in a truly brilliant programme that showcases the creative communities and landscapes of Galway, European Capital of Culture.
