O’Donnellan & Joyce auction season off to a flying start
O’Donnellan & Joyce auctioneers, Ireland’s largest independent auction house, hosted its first live property auction following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions on Friday last, July 3. The auction was set to take place behind closed doors with phone, internet, and proxy bidders initially invited to participate; however the plans changed and the live auction went ahead thanks to the accelerated Government roadmap which allowed for a large public gathering to take place while adhering to social distancing measures.

O’Donnellan & Joyce will hold nationwide property auctions in Galway city on July 3 and 24. The auctions will be held remotely and interested parties can register to bid by telephone and online. As there will be no live audience, other than those conducting the phone and internet bidding on behalf of intending purchasers, the auction can be watched live online.

O’Donnellan & Joyce auctioneers has supported three local charities thanks to the bidders who took part in the company's charity auction on Friday last. There was enormous interest in the three fantasy lots which went under the hammer on Friday with auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan on the podium during the live streamed event. Three fictional properties were constructed by the auction team for entertainment purposes only, and they sure did entertain.

Nationwide auctioneering firm O’Donnellan & Joyce, based in Mary Street, Galway, is working hard to keep business going during this pandemic. The company has decided to close its physical office and migrate operations to the safety of the cloud with staff working from home over a networked system. The company is still largely operational, however due to the current restrictions on travel and movement of people, physical property viewings have been temporarily suspended.
