Members of Claremorris Area committee have given the go-ahead to the new Ballinrobe and Ballyhaunis local area plans. The new plan has seen no land dezoned, but organised into different phases. The first phase will take in all unfinished estates and existing planning permissions. When 70 per cent of that has been completed, phase two lands will be open for applications.

The absence of motorised street sweeping in Claremorris was queried by local councillor Richard Finn, speaking at the December meeting of the Claremorris Area committee.
