The Innovation in Business Centre (IiBC) at the GMIT Castlebar is presenting a seminar facilitated by the Ulster Bank on trading internationally. While this event is primarily aimed at those businesses who are potential or early exporters, anyone with interest in international trade including those businesses that are looking to import are welcome to attend this free seminar.

The Innovation in Business Centre, Castlebar, will host an interactive open day on Wednesday June 5 on how to enter the US market. There will also be opportunities to talk to the local State enterprise support agencies, as well as sessions facilitated by IiBC clients focusing on attracting investment, setting up an online business, aquaculture, and reducing costs with lean solutions.

March’s Mayo Open Coffee Club (MOCC) meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 6, in the Innovation in Business Centre (IiBC) at GMIT Castlebar at 9.30am and this month Tom Murphy, managing director of Pamex (www.pamex.ie), will be speaking about exporting and winning business overseas.

Fionnuala Comer and Anthony Voisine, two final year business students in GMIT Castlebar, have won first prize in the annual GMIT Student Innovation Awards 2013 for their start-up business concept ‘Lollicakes’, an innovative healthy confectionery for all types of occasions.
