Leslie Dowdall is the voice and songwriter behind the sound that was In Tua Nua, Mike Hanrahan is the voice and songwriter that is Stockton’s Wing, and they will be taking to the stage together in the Ballina Arts Centre on Thursday, June 15.  Following her stint fronting legendary Irish band In Tua Nua, Leslie Dowdall’s solo career began in earnest with the release of No Guilt, No Guile in 1997. The album won high praise for its creativity and featured hit single ‘Wonderful Thing’. 

Gatehouse come to Ballina

Gatehouse are a newly-formed band with a line up of experienced and up and coming artists, who recently launched debut album Tús Nua. Gatehouse are John McEvoy (fiddle/viola/piano), Jacinta McEvoy (guitar/concertina/backing vocals), Rachel Garvey (vocals), and John Wynne (flutes/whistles). They will be taking to the stage in Ballina Arts Centre on Friday, March 24, at 8pm.

Throughout March and April, Ballina Arts Centre will present Girlhood, an exhibition by Mayo artist Orla Sloyan. Girlhood is the collaborative result of a photographic project between the photographer and the Maughan family that documents the family’s special and intimate occasions from 2007 to 2016.
