Workshop to teach businesses how to reduce energy bills

Athlone Chamber of Commerce supported by Energia will host an energy reduction workshop for businesses on November from 12 midday to 2pm.

This two and a half hour workshop, which can save you thousands on energy costs, will teach you how to:

Read, understand and compare your electricity bills: This will ensure that you are always on the correct tariff and have the best available rate from your supplier. Bills are so confusing due to the different formats of charges, in this workshop you will be shown a simple way to standardise bills from various suppliers, allowing you to find the most competitive supplier. The workshop is hosted and presented by an independent energy consultant which ensures you receive non-biased information.

Carry out an energy audit on your premises: Good energy management begins with an energy audit. Effective management of energy-consuming systems can lead to significant cost and energy savings as well as increased comfort, lower maintenance costs, and extended equipment life.

Implement no cost / low cost energy reduction methods: You will be shown some easy to implement ideas that can be used immediately in your company.

Develop an action plan to achieve identified savings: Set up an agreed programme for getting savings projects completed.

Apply for energy efficiency funding and grants: Information will be given on the available grant aid and what types of projects qualify.

Real life case studies will be presented and discussed and full workshop materials will be provided.

Please bring your bills with you on the day as these can be analysed to show you where you are using most of your electricity.

Venue is the Shamrock Lodge Hotel from 12 noon to 2pm on November 1. Light lunch will be provided. Places for this workshop are very limited and will be filled on a first come first served basis. The workshop is free for Chamber members. Should you wish to reserve a place contact [email protected].
