Moate Community School all set for ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Preparations are now reaching fever-pitch for Moate Community School’s production of the Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

The stage is set, the scripts are doggy-eared, and the lights are about to shine on the most extravagant and entertaining production-to-date.

The musicality of the student-body combined with the enthusiasm and energy of all those cast members and staff involved in the production of this tale guarantees a night not to be missed.

Moate Community School is renowned for its spirit of collegiality and creativity as evident during the rehearsals of this production.

The audition process, which took place last May, now seems a distant memory, and students are gleefully adding the final polishes to ensure a night of singing, dancing, colour and chorus.

This 18th century classic is a timeless tale of a beautiful and intelligent girl named Belle who feels misplaced in her French village. The plot soon accelerates, however, as her father is imprisoned in a mysterious castle and Belle finds herself at the mercy of the Beast. This leads to scenes of intrigue, suspense and tension.

Of course, this provides much for the audience in the form of singing, dancing and comedic respite. As the audience invest in Belle, it soon becomes a tale of love and hope, fun and laughter.

The key question remains: what does the future hold for Belle? Only a ticket can answer that.

Tickets are available from the reception in the school, and from News 4 U, Galvins and Maries in Moate.

The show opens on Tuesday, October 24, and continues until Friday, October 27, running at 8pm each evening.
