Guilty plea over drink driving

A man who pleaded guilty to drink driving on New Year’s Day has been fined €750 and disqualified from driving for three years.

Mr Matt Cummins of Arthurstown, Delvin was involved in a single vehicle road crash at around 3am and admitted to Gardaí that he had been drinking.

A breath specimen returned an alcohol record of 68mg per 100ml.

The court heard he was abusive and aggressive while at the Garda Station.

Ms Vicky McCarthy said her client knew he had made the wrong decision after having a few drinks on New Year’s Eve and was totally remorseful.
