New Mid Ireland Visitors Guide officially launched

The 2009 Mid Ireland Visitors Guide and new visitors card was launched recently.

The new edition of the Mid Ireland Visitors Guide has being greatly enhanced, with improved layout and design. It features the regions top leisure activities, attractions, accommodation, restaurants, pubs, festivals, and events.

Local tourism providers such as Tullynally Castle, Belvedere House, Locke’s Distillery Museum, and Mullingar Greyhound Stadium are includued. Lough Derravaragh Holiday Park and Boat Hire and McCormack’s Guesthouse also feature in the new guide.

The brochure also includes a map of the region and access information and includes a paragraph on Mullingar town.

Accompanying the new Visitors Guide is a unique visitors card. This creative initiative offers visitors many special offers, discounts, and added benefits on a range of products in the Mid Ireland region. The visitors card offers in excess of €2,000 in participating offers, meaning visitors to the region can avail of an even better value for money holiday.

Yvonne Mullally, marketing manager of Mid Ireland Tourism highlighted that tourism product providers should be optimistic about the coming season. “This region is well positioned to take advantage of the growing domestic market with good access, and more importantly a wide range of activities and attractions and a variety of quality accommodation.”

Brigid Geoghegan of Belvedere House, Gardens, and Park, Mullingar and chairperson of Mid Ireland Tourism, formally launched the new Visitors Guide and visitors card. “Mid Ireland Tourism is one of the most effective marketing co-operatives around and I am looking forward to being a part of their extensive marketing campaign for 2009,” she said.

Rhona Rogers, Co Westmeath Tourism Ltd, says she “is delighted with the new brochure which is supported by an excellent online presence that highlights the central area of Ireland”.

“Co Westmeath Tourism Ltd will be working alongside Mid Ireland Tourism to promote the Midlands region and create stronger links between tourism providers within the region.”
