Road improvements commence on main road in Ballymore

Improvements to the main road in Ballymore have commenced, following the allocation of €70,000 in funding.

Longford-Westmeath Independent TD, Kevin 'Boxer' Moran has expressed delight that work in the village has begun.

"The funding has been allocated, which I announced at the end of last year, for car parking, lighting and footpaths outside the Church," said Deputy Moran."This type of funding is of huge benefit to communities across Westmeath. I also want to acknowledge the great work carried in the village of Ballymore by the local community, including the Tidy Towns Committee and local businesses.

"It is a very busy road and the works will add additional safety measures for all road users and pedestrians. When the next Clar finding applications are made, Ballymore can look for further additional schemes to enhance the village," he added.

"I look forward to working with the people of Ballymore on similar projects in the future."
