Cannabis herb with an estimated value of €42,000 has been seized by Gardaí just outside Mullingar.
The find was part of an operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Westmeath area.
Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit, Mullingar seized the drugs following the search of a car that they had stopped on the N52 at Cloghan, just north of Mullingar, at approximately 5pm on Tuesday, September 13.
A 21-year-old man and a female juvenile were arrested at the scene and detained at Mullingar Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking ) Act, 1996 as amended.
Gardaí also seized an amount of cash that was located in the car during the search.
