FÍS is an arts initiative that looks at developing opportunities for artists and creative professionals to make new work in response to a specific site. FÍS Athlone is currently working with Passionfruit Theatre as the site for its first project, which will take place in the theatre space at the end of March.
A site visit is being held on Saturday January 31. This will be an opportunity for anyone interested in becoming involved in the project to meet other potential artists and to see the site. Miriam Walsh, curator of FÍS, and Michelle Flynn, artistic director of Passionfruit, will be there to answer questions about the space.
FÍS would like to hear from artists and creative professionals working on the fringes of their discipline and interested in spatial, audio visual, or performative installations or interventions (visual arts, architecture, landscape, design, video, sound, theatre ).
