Unfortunately the Westmeath Ladies’ encouraging Division Two League campaign ended with a comprehensive semi-final defeat.
Westmeath lost against an impressive Donegal side, who cruised to a convincing 3-10 to 1-4 success.
Donegal were in control from an early stage as Amber Barrett’s goal after 90 seconds put them in control.
Yvonne McMonagle added a second goal as Donegal led by 2-1 to 0-3 at the break as Westmeath battled in determined fashion.
But after the restart McMonagle scored another major for Donegal before Karen McDermott netted a brilliant consolation effort for Westmeath.
