Marist Auction raises over €20,000 at charity auction

More than 600 lots went under the hammer at the recent Monster auction and spring fair in the Marist College resulting in a windfall of over €20,000 for the Parents Association.

The fundraising auction took place in the school gym together with a supporting market that included a lucky dip, pop-up coffee shop and cake sale, book stall, shoe boutique, toy store, ladies accessories counter, and a bric-a-brac shop. Items auctioned on the day included a mink coat, antiques, household goods, and musical instruments.

Row by row the auctioneers ploughed through the lots, throughout the evening bidders came and went depending on what lots they were interested in.

The highlight of the day was a framed jersey and rugby ball signed by famous past pupil and Irish try scorer Robbie Henshaw. Bidding stopped at €500 and there was huge applause when the gavel dropped. The local bidder also purchased the signed ball for €150.

The Marist College Parents Association would like to thank all those who sponsored, donated, supported, or helped in any way to make the auction such a great success.
