Beat the recession blues and have a laugh at the Prince of Wales Hotel next week.
The Prince of Wales Hotel, Athlone is set to host the Kinetic Comedy Club, Ireland's only travelling comedy club, as it visits Athlone on Monday January 26. The headline on the night will be David McSavage, who will be supported by Neil Hickey.
McSavage has played all over the English speaking world and then some. He sells out his entire run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival every year, and he has played the Kilkenny Cat Laughs and Aspen Comedy Festivals. He is one of the main draws at the Electric Picnic and Carlsberg Comedy Carnival every year and last year he headlined the comedy stage at the Oxegen Festival. He has sold out Vicar Street and numerous other theatres nationwide many, many, times and is a regular guest on RTE’s The Late Late Show. He recently starred in and co-created the Channel 4 pilot series of Headwreckers and is currently working on a television project with director Damien O'Donnell.
Supporting McSavage is Neil Hickey. This very talented young man has played the last two Cat Laughs festivals, played the Oxygen festival, played Vicar Street as part of numerous compilation shows, opened for Bill Bailey in the Olympia Theatre, and this year he made his debut at the Carlsberg Comedy Carnival in the Iveagh Gardens, the Edinburgh Festival, and Electric Picnic.
The MC for the evening will be Keith Farnan who has performed across the world in the Boston International Comedy Festival, the Edinburgh Festival, New York Underground Comedy Fest, Oxegen and the Cat Laughs, and in Norway and Denmark. He is a resident MC at the Laughter Lounge in Dublin and performs in clubs around Ireland and the UK including being a regular at the Comedy Store
