Drop off your coppers and make a change for charity

The Change for Charity roadshow is heading to the Athlone Towncentre next Thursday February 12 and they want you to join them.

After the exciting launch of their schools competition last week they’re coming to Westmeath to spread the word and to collect your coppers.

They will be in Athone Towncentre next Thursday February 12 from 12-2pm to raise awareness about the campaign and to give the public a chance to donate their coins.

Change for Charity is the brainchild of Norma Smurfit who has been fundraising for over 40 years across Ireland. With this campaign she hopes to encourage people to donate their 1c and 2c coins (there’s €35 million of them out there ) to help a number of Irish charities.

With the help of businesses, schools, and some famous faces they are taking to the road to raise awareness for the campaign and to make it even easier for people to get rid of those pesky coppers clogging up their wallets!
