All sewn up as The Zip Yard raises over €10,000 for Irish Cancer Society

The Zip Yard, Ireland’s leading clothing and alterations boutique is delighted to have raised over €10,000 in support of this year’s Paint it Pink campaign in association with the Irish Cancer Society.

The amount was raised through a range of activities in each of the 24 shops nationwide, including their Athlone shop, which included a Sew Pink Day on October 9 when 50 per cent of turnover was donated to the Irish Cancer Society.

Commenting on the partnership, The Zip Yard Athlone said: “We are delighted to have come together to support this worthy cause and look forward continuing to support the Irish Cancer Society in the future”.

Mark Mellett, head of fundraising at The Irish Cancer Society, said: “We are delighted to have had The Zip Yard on board as one of our Pink Partners in 2014 and very much appreciates the effort in raising this significant amount. The Zip Yard’s support will make a very real and lasting difference to the lives of people affected by breast cancer and will help fund more research into better ways to diagnose and treat breast cancer.”
