Raharney face tough test on Sunday

Raharney will be hoping to cause a Leinster Senior Hurling Club Championship semi-final shock on Sunday against Offaly outfit Kilcormac-Killoughey.

Inspired by the Doyle twins, Killian and Ciaran, Raharney have enjoyed a hugely productive campaign, but they face a tricky test against Kilcormac-Killoughey, who defeated Wexford side Shelmaliers in a thriller by 2-13 to 0-18 in a gripping quarter-final after extra time. Conor Mahon bagged a first half goal for Kilcormac-Killoughey in that match, but they still trailed by three points in the closing seconds of normal time.

Kilcormac-Killoughey, though, pounced when James Gorman gathered possession with a brilliant catch before unleashing an equalising goal. Cillian Kiely lofted over the decisive point to seal a fine victory for Kilcormac-Killoughey, who continue to be inspired by their own set of twins Ger and Peter Healion in defence.

Dan Currams, Damien Kilmartin, and Ciaran Slevin are other leading players for Kilcormac-Killoughey, who lost the 2013 All Ireland Club final to St Thomas from Galway. Raharney impressed when defeating St Mullins of Carlow by 2-11 to 0-9 in the last round with goals from Killian Doyle and John Shaw.
