It’s all about the little ones at Roscommon Arts Centre for the month of October as the Lollipops Children’s Festival kicks off!

Saturday October 4 sees the preview of Eamon O’Kanes exhibition A History Of Play. Parent and toddler groups and preschools are invited to use the gallery to hold their weekly meetings and to experience the joy of play in a gallery space. All are welcome to attend the preview, and the exhibition continues until November 14.

Lyngo Theatre Company return on Tuesday October 7 with the fantastic Watch the Birdy for 3-5 year olds, with 10am and 12pm shows. CBeebies’ Patrick Lynch is back with a show packed full of tricks, surprises, transformations, and eggs of all kinds!

On Friday October 10 comes a teeny weeny show for the very youngest of audiences! TiNY is small enough to pop up anywhere and is suitable for 0-12 months. The show is performed to just a few babies at a time and is full of magical sounds, lights, and textures.

On Tuesday October 14, Roscommon Arts Centre in conjunction with Baboro welcome The Odyssey Experience. Suitable for ages 8-12, this is an interactive show adapted from Homer’s The Odyssey and fuelled by the imagination of the audience, as they, together with the actors, portray many of the characters and help create the show!

The Exploration Dome pays a visit on Thursday October 23. With screenings of educational films such as The Enchanted Reef, Dynamic Earth, and Back to the Moon this is a fun and interactive way to explore science, astronomy, and geography for 4-12 year olds. Step into the dome and see our world in a whole new way!
