End the summer in style at Danny Byrne’s

It you’re looking for great live music this weekend with the added bonus of a BBQ and some fun and games then Danny Byrne’s is the place to be this weekend starting tonight, Friday August 22 with Booka Brass Band. Booka Brass Band have developed their sound and set-up over the last 12 months through a succession of great opportunities, all well deserved and well executed. They have also grown in size, now comprising seven members consisting of two trumpets, two trombones, saxophone, sousaphone and drums. Classically trained, the band also brings a great understanding of classical harmony which can be heard behind the beats of their original tunes.

On Saturday August 23 Mullingar band Mystery Machine take to the stage, ahead of Danny Byrne’s Garden Music Festival 2014.

Kicking off at 1pm on Sunday August 24 this free festival promises to be one to remember. There’s a great mix of live music including White Chalk, The Young Folk, Arrow in the Sky, Fallen Lights, We Were Giants, Tae Lane, Colour/Sound, Jemson Green, Ray Scully, Good Man, Shiela, Mustache, Sandie McCabe, Michaela and the Roadrunners, Acoustic Groove, The Monotones, Shane Roe, and Mick Tape. Not forgetting renowned jazz aritist Barry Jazz Finnegan will be doing live drawings on the day. On top of this there’ll be a BBQ all day! With over 30 live and original acts over two stages all taking place in Danny’s newly refurbished beer garden, it’s one not to be missed.

And while you’re at it, don’t forget to check out their popular lunch and evening food menus. Always a favourite with locals, and visitors to the town, the gastropub has been growing in strength thanks to chef Philip O’Reilly - offering diners a variety of mouthwatering delights.

Mr O’Reilly is no stranger to good food having worked in Michelin star restaurants in Maastricht, Holland as well as Chapter One, Dublin; Radisson Blu, Athlone; County Arms, Birr; and his own restaurant in Sydney.
