Pleads to drug dealing at aunt’s house

A young man has pleaded guilty to having cannabis for sale or supply at the home of his aunt in Kinnegad.

At Mullingar Circuit Court, Brian Corish (23 ), with an address at Dromheath Drive, Mulhuddart, Dublin, admitted having cannabis resin and cannabis herb for sale at his aunt’s home at Riverside Lawns on September 27 last year.

A probation report has been ordered for Corish, whom the court heard has some previous addiction issues.

Counsel for Corish said there’s considerable hope for his future and said his client was in a somewhat curious position.

His aunt, Thelma Mayne (53 ), who lives at the Riverside Lawns address, has previously pleaded guilty to allowing her premises to be used for possession of the drugs.

She has no previous convictions and no previous drug issues, the court heard.

Both will be sentenced by Judge Tony Hunt in October.
