Ireland's funniest man in Ireland's funniest show! That is the description given to Donegal's legend of laughs, Conal Gallen.
Such is the popularity of Conal Gallen that practically every date he plays has been sold out in advance
Conal brings his own full two hour comedy show to the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone on Thursday January 15. Over two hours of non-stop comedy ensures a brilliant night will be had by all. Conal's main aim is to get as many jokes into the show as possible. Indeed, there are times when he is telling two or three jokes at the same time, a feat not easily done.
His last album entitled Live & Full of It went double platinum, only one of two Irish comedians to achieve this. Featuring some of these side-splitting songs and the wonderfully hilarious poem ‘Holiday In The Sun’, this looks like being the biggest selling album of the year in Ireland. Conal has released 28 albums and six DVDs to date.
One of the delights of attending a Conal Gallen show is the fact that not only does the audience not know what he is going to do next, neither does he! It is this spontaneity that makes him the world class entertainer that he is today.
Funny man Conal has been sweeping the nation with the self-penned song ’Horse It Into Ya, Cynthia’, which has just broken records on BBC Radio Ulster as the most requested song they have ever had. ‘Horse It Into Ya, Cynthia’ is now the most requested song on most local radio stations in Ireland, and has become a ring tone on tens of thousands of mobile phones across Ireland.
Due to the influx of younger people attending Conal Gallen's concerts his record company, Little Round Records, has just released a dance mix of ‘Horse it Into Ya Cynthia’. This is being distributed to radio stations all over the country and it is available to download for free on Conal’s brand new website, www.conalgallen.com
Conal's shows are littered with hilarious songs, such as the massive hit ‘Horse It Into Ya, Cynthia’, ‘I'll Make Love To You In The Henhouse’, ‘Daniel Put the Kettle on’ and many more.
He has been described as "a legend in his own trousers" and those who have been to his shows can confirm this!
Conal recently sold out the 2,000 seater Waterfront Hall in Belfast, one of only two Irish comedians to do this. All in all, a very busy time for this multi-award winning comedian.
Conal will be appearing in the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone on Thursday January 15. Early booking is strongly advised. Call the box office at (090 ) 6492129.
