Move over Bruce! Yes, Strictly Come Dancing hits Mullingar on Saturday July 12. The event, in the Arts Centre, is to raise funds for an upcoming trip to Tanzania by members of the Amani Orphanage Appeal to build a school in an orphanage.
Eight couples will engage in a battle of sequins, suits, and style, aiming to be crowned Strictly Come Dancing Champions 2014. Dancing on the night will be some well-known local personalities including business owners Brendan Cocoman of Hugh Daniels menswear and Eamonn Brady of Whelehans Pharmacy, well-known hairdresser Phil Fitzsimons, along with local musicians Banjo Quinn and Aidan Lynch. To add further glitz and style to the evening, the event will be compered by TV3’s Noel Cunningham. There will be lots of other surprises, free draws, and entertainment on the night.
In August 2014, 11 local volunteers will travel to Tanzania led by Amani Orphanage project founder John McAuley. To find out more about the project’s work, see www.johnsamaniorphanage.ie
