A male in his 30s is scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Athlone District Court at 5pm today charged in connection with the discovery of the body of Patryck Krupa (23 ) in Athlone on June 20.
A 20-year-old male remains in custody in Athlone Garda Station.
Mr Krupa's body was found partially submerged in water in an area known as Bogginfin at about 8.25pm on Friday night.
Gardai in Athlone are also investigating an assault in the town which also took place on Friday evening.
