Music makers, parents, schools, community groups, choirs, and town bands are invited to attend an open evening hosted by Music Generation Offaly/ Westmeath on Wednesday June 4 at 7pm in the Tullamore Court Hotel.
At the open evening people can learn how Music Generation has already impacted on over 1,500 young people across Offaly and Westmeath and how groups can benefit from partnering with Music Generation locally. Those present on the night will also be able to entre into a free draw for tickets to see Declan O’Rourke at Birr Theatre and Arts Centre on June 7, plus there will be lots of opportunity for networking, conversation and of course some music!
“We are really interested to meet with groups who want better to access music education for young people; perhaps they have access to instruments but not tutors, or a choir and want a new junior section or from musicians who would like to know about being a tutor. We already have nine tutors who each have about eight-10 hours teaching a week in our schools choral programme, so there are local employment opportunities being developed much more for musicians because of Music Generation,” remarked Margaret Broome, development officer with Music Generation.
For more information about attending you can contact Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath on (057 ) 9346868, email [email protected], or follow on Facebook.
