Good2Talk (G2T ), Mullingar’s suicide prevention service will celebrate its first year supporting the community on May 10 with a charity classical concert in All Saints church.
The ‘Walk Hand-in-Hand Concert’ will feature international bass/baritone soloist Cian Brennan-Gavin, in association with Mullingar Charity Variety Group, and will start at 8pm.
“The first year has come and gone very quickly and we are extremely proud of our achievements to date,” said Good2Talk director of services, Pat Gavin at the launch this week.
“Since opening in May 2013, over 250 people have accessed and engaged in one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy in our premises which is conveniently located at No. 1, College Street, beside Mullingar Garda Station,” he continued.
“We have successfully worked with clients from the age of 13 and upwards, with issues ranging from depression, anxiety, bullying, trauma, relationships issues, suicide ideation and more. We thank our clients and their families who have trusted us to help and support them in their time of need,” he added.
G2T’s mission is to support members of the community in maintaining positive mental health. They offer effective and accessible counselling and psychotherapy and work towards improving the mental wellbeing of all members within our community.
They look forward to their next year in helping the people of the community, bringing about a greater awareness of the services they offer, and extending the hand of support to many more communities in the Midlands.
“We continue to be humbled and encouraged by the support we have received from local businesses, the local community, voluntary groups, and individuals. We are especially grateful to the highly trained professional therapists who give their time voluntarily and it is because of this that we can offer effective and accessible therapeutic support to the people of our community,” he concluded.
