The Importance of Being Wilde comes to Athlone

The Importance of Being Wilde is a compelling documentary play on the life and extraordinary career of Oscar Wilde, one of the most flamboyant and brilliantly original Irishmen of all time.

Author of such classics as The Importance of Being Earnest, An Ideal Husband, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and De Profundis, Wilde went from being a celebrated literary icon to being vilified and imprisoned and dying a broken man in exile.

Featuring Stephen Burns and Matt Murphy, and directed by Patrick Talbot, this play will take audiences through the scintillating peaks and appalling lows of a unique life.

The Importance of Being Wilde comes to the Dean Crowe, Athlone on May 24 at 8pm.
