Celebrating its 20th birthday this year, the Alzheimer Society Annual Tea Day on Thursday May 1 is the main national fundraising event to provide funds to help and support almost 42,000 families affected by Alzheimer’s nationwide.
The Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar will host a tea day on Thursday May 1 from 9.30am-2.30pm. The event is for local people to come together to drink tea, enjoy cake and sandwiches, and crucially, to raise funds for life-changing local Alzheimer’s services.
In conjunction with local businesses, there will be a raffle on the day, with many fantastic prizes. Whelehans Pharmacy will offer those attending a range of health checks including blood pressure, diabetes and haemoglobin, all free of charge.
Westmeath Alzheimer Society would like to to thank these local patrons for their support: the Knights of St Columbanus, Card Warehouse, the Greville Arms Hotel, Annebrook House Hotel, Billy Mac, Joanne Arthur, Margaret Connelly, O’Briens Garage, House of Flowers, 1428 Club, Imelda Boylan, Enda Murray, Rock ‘n’ Bowl, and Maurice Stenson, manager of Belvedere House and Gardens.
Locally, the society has set some goals for this year in terms of increasing the level of homecare and daycare provision available throughout the county significantly. All of the money raised locally stays and will be spent locally. Please support the society by attending the Tea Day.
