Oxfam Mullingar will host a table quiz and raffle tonight, Friday March 21 in Clark’s Bar, Patrick Street, Mullingar. A table of four is €40 and prizes will be awarded on the night.
The event is part of Oxfam’s current ‘Heroes’ campaign. This campaign celebrates the contributions women make to their local community in Mullingar. Speaking ahead of the event Oxfam Mullingar’s shop manager Trudi Soysal said: “We all know a female hero - they are our mothers, sisters, grandmothers, friends, colleagues, teachers, and neighbours. They contribute to the local community in Mullingar in big ways and small, yet they are often unsung heroes.
“As well as saying a very special thank you to your personal hero, all the profits raised from our Heroes pins, cards, gifts, and events will go to our work with women worldwide, from training for female farmers to tackling violence against girls and women.”
