The Moate St Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Monday March 17 at 4pm.
The theme of this year’s parade will be Irish culture and music through the ages. The theme is in keeping with the Leinster Fleadh Cheoil which will take place in Moate this year. There is expected to be up to 60 floats from far and wide, in what is gearing up to be a great day for all the family.
The Grand Marshall will officially start the parade. The parade will start at the Carmelite at 4pm (sharp ), and make its way through the town before ending at Tuar Ard.
There will be a prize on the day for the best float and the best shop window display. Local floats, a wide variety of bands, vintage cars and tractors, and a few surprises will be among the main attractions at the parade.
The chairman of Moate Partnership Group, Michael O’Brien, said, “We are very encouraged with the level of interest and support there continues to be for the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Moate.”
“On behalf of the Moate Partnership Group, I’d like to encourage everyone to come along on the day and join in the Paddy’s Day fun,” said Mr O’Brien.
