Gardai seek information on burglaries

A number of thefts took place over last weekend in the north Westmeath area.

In the early hours of Friday morning December 19 a burglary took place at a private residence on Main Street, Kinnegad and a quantity of cash was taken.

Between Friday and Saturday, items were taken from a vehicle at Lynne Industrial Estate, Mullingar. The passenger window of the blue Astra Estate was broken, and documents and a worker’s bag stolen, between the hours of 10.30pm and 10.40am.

Finally, between the hours of 8.30pm on Saturday evening and 8.30am on Sunday, a substantial amount of property was stolen from a business premises on Main Street, Clonmellon.

Entry was forced at the rear of the premises, and a safe, cigarettes, and a quantity of cash were stolen. The safe was loaded into a trailer in the rear yard of the shop and the trailer then taken.
