One of Ireland’s best-known adventurers along with an internationally renowned Sherpa will be telling the tragic story behind the award-winning movie The Summit in Mullingar in the on Friday December 6.
Pat Falvey has more than 65 expeditions up and down the seven summits under his belt - including Everest which he climbed twice. Sherpa Pemba Gyalje has been hailed as a hero internationally. He saved multiple lives on the tragic expedition in 2008 on an expedition now known as the worst K2 climbing disaster in history after 11 people died.
Pat and Pemba will be in Outdoor Sports in Mullingar on Friday December 6 at 7.30pm to deliver a presentation on the fascinating tragedy and sign copies of their book. The event is being organised by Ballymahon businessman and climbing fanatic Des Mulvihill.
Admission is free and both speakers will be open to questions afterwards in order to further their campaign to clear the name of Ger McDonnell.
