The Marie Keating Foundation would like to thank the people of Mullingar who supported them when their Mobile Information Unit visited Mullingar last Thursday for a cancer awareness day in conjunction with Whelehans Pharmacy. The Marie Keating specialist cancer nurse spent the day giving information on cancer and advice to those touched by cancer either directly or indirectly. The unit was located in front of Whelehans Pharmacy on Pearse Street for the day.
The Marie Keating foundation was formed by Ronan Keating and his family, with the aim of providing vital information which could help to prevent cancer or detect it at its earliest stages.
Eamonn Brady from Whelehans would like to thank the public for their support, and his staff who made homemade pink cupcakes to raise over €200 for the Marie Keating Foundation.
He also thanked Westmeath County Council, especially Pauline in the Mullingar Area Office, for allowing the unit to use the council’s parking spaces for free for the day.
