Clara Musical Society are delighted to announce that they have secured the rights to stage the rock-musical that established Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice on an international stage, Jesus Christ Superstar.
The show will run the week before Easter, from April 8-12 in the GAA Social Centre. Jesus Christ Superstar tells the story of last days of Christ’s life on earth up to and including the crucifixion and is told entirely through the magnificent rock music score that has thrilled audiences for over 40 years now.
A launch night will be held on Friday October 25 with the screening of a DVD of Jesus Christ Superstar in White’s Bar at 8pm.
CD and audition pieces will be available on the night.
This is a great show for males especially and indeed one of the main challenges will be to secure the 20 talented males that will be needed to stage the musical. Pre-auditions will be held on Tuesday October 29 followed by auditions on October 30 and 31 at 8pm in the Friends Meeting House, Tullamore Road, Clara.
New and old members are always welcome (over 16s ).
