Delvin remain senior

Delvin, Oliver Plunkett’s, and Castletowngeoghegan were the big winners in the three important hurling games last weekend. Delvin edged out Crookedwood by the narrowest of margins, 2-8 to 1-10 to retain their senior status for 2014 and in doing so consigned The Wood to intermediate hurling for next year.

In the quarter-finals Oliver Plunkett’s ended with eight points to spare over Castlepollard on a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-14 while Castletown had to battle hard to see off the challenge of Raharney on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-11.

Castletown will play Lough Lene Gaels in their semi-final while Oliver Plunkett’s will meet Clonkill.
