Ballinasloe Cancer Support Centre to officially launch

The official opening of the Ballinasloe Cancer Support Centre’s new premises will take place on Wednesday September 11.

The committee and staff wish to invite the public to the official opening to view the new premises and to see the services provided. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Ballinasloe Cancer Support Centre provides a free and confidential service for those with a cancer diagnosis and their families. The centre provides counselling, reflexology, acupuncture, holistic massage therapy, and bereavement support.

The centre is also committed to providing ongoing information and education on relevant topics relating to cancer and has a list of publications, booklets, and pamphlets available in the centre on the various forms of cancer.

Since its foundation in 2010, the centre has provided help and support to many people, not just from Ballinasloe but from north and east galway, south Roscommon, Athlone, and north Offaly. The new premises will allow them to continue to meet the ever-increasing numbers of cancer sufferers at a very difficult time in their lives.

The premise is located at Main Street, Ballinasloe over what was formely the National Irish Bank building, with the entrance beside John Dolan auctioneers.

The official opening takes place on Wednesday September 11 at 5pm. Dr Maccon Keane, oncologist at UCHG, will perform the opening.

The Ballinasloe Cancer Support Centre is affiliated to the Irish Cancer Society and is a member of its National Standards Committee.

The centre is open Monday 4-6.30pm and Wednesday and Friday 10am-1pm. No appointment is necessary to drop in to the centre during opening hours. For further information call (090 ) 9645574.
