The family treasure hunt is a free, fun-filled, and novel trail through a collection of Athlone town’s landmark buildings and venues. Plan your route, solve the clues, and race back to base at The Square to finish and record your adventure!
Learn and discover Athlone’s secrets as you walk through the town’s streets on Saturday August 17 as part of Luan Fest.
Participants will have 37 clues to solve in approximately two hours - starting at the green area at Diskin Memorial in Golden Island shopping centre then onto the historic Irishtown as you embark on an east-west adventure.
Participants will over over 2.5km of the town finishing on the west side of Athlone.
The treasure hunt starts at 12.30pm at Golden Island shopping centre and will take two-three hours. Teams should be made up of a mixture of adults and children, and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Maps will be provided so don’t worry if your knowledge of the town isn’t too high.
The theme this year is ‘Explorers’ so be sure to dress up as your favourite explorer, from Indiana Jones, to Christopher Columbus, to Dora the Explorer!
