In an effort to meet a growing demand for information about franchising, the Westmeath County Enterprise Board has organised a seminar on the subject for Tuesday June 18, in Athlone.
In association with the Ulster Bank and the Irish Franchise Association the Enterprise Board have put together an free evening seminar entitled “Franchising - All you Need To Know” which starts at 6pm in the Radisson Blu hotel.
The seminar will include presentations and advice on what to look for in a franchise; legal and financial issues; a case study of a well-known franchise; as well as an in-depth look at current franchising opportunities.
“There will be presentations from successful franchisors and advice from franchising experts and an opportunity to meet them on a one-to-one basis,” said Jillian Shaw of the Enterprise Board.
“Franchising can be the perfect way to launch your own business. It minimizes the risk of starting up on your own by providing a tried and tested concept as well as access to training and ongoing advice and support. The slogan in franchising is ‘You are in business for yourself, but not by yourself’,” she added.
The industry contributes 4,086 operating units on the island of Ireland and offers 42,927 full-time jobs to the economy, besides generating hundreds of indirect jobs.
In the downturn the franchise sector has increased job creation figures every year since 2006.
