New indoor Sunday market at Mullingar

With Christmas fast approaching, a new indoor market and car boot sale is now up and running every Sunday in Mullingar Equestrian Centre .

The market starts each Sunday at 9am and finishes at 3pm. The idea of the market is to provide a one-stop shopping destination for enthusiastic shoppers and bargain hunters looking for something a little different this festive season. “The response from stall holders has been unbelievable,” said a delighted Robert Fagan, who is always on the look out for ideas to help generate new business and attract visitors to his home town.

“Markets are hugely popular on the continent and while the market concept is taking off again around the country I feel that there is a need for a good market in the Midlands,” said Mr Fagan.

Visitors to the market can expect a variety of exciting stalls from jewellery to Christmas crafts, clothes, antiques, health and food, etc, as well as a limited number of car boot stalls. With all activities taking place indoors, weather will not dampen proceedings. The market is presently scheduled to run on December 14, 21, 28 and January 4; if the demand continues the market will continue after January 4.

The ethos of the new market is to provide a relaxed and friendly shopping environment where visitors can wander through the stalls picking out their favourite pieces without any stress or pressure. Visitors and stall holders can also take time out to rest or meet up with friends in the on-site gallery coffee shop which overlooks the market.

A small play area will be in operation which should prove popular with the younger visitors. Pony rides will also be available for the enthusiastic pony lover. If all that excitement is not enough, Santa will be in residence in his specially designed log cabin from noon to 3pm on Sunday December 14 and 21.

There are still a limited number of stall spaces available and anyone interested in setting up a stall should contact Robert immediately on (086 ) 2519161.
