There’s a treat in store at the Mullingar Arts Centre on Saturday May 18, an evening packed with an astonishing variety of entertainment.
MAC students will be performing pieces on the piano, as well as the flute, tin whistle, and recorder. Members of the Mullingar Youth Academy of Performing Arts will be presenting medleys from Broadway and West End hit musicals.
Pupils of the Mullingar Arts Centre School of Ballet will be presenting a selection of pieces from the Royal Academy of dance syllabus, and senior students will perform an original piece choreographed for the MAC Youth.
Selected scenes from the Mullingar Student Players’ runaway success - Miss Saigon - which delighted audiences and sold out the theatre earlier in the year will also be performed.
One of the most recent initiatives at the arts centre was Young Directors; a number of aspiring directors were each given a one-act play to cast and direct. This year, the play featured in the Youth Show is Happy Talking by Laura Shaine Cunningham. The play was directed by James Bourke.
MAC Youth will be presented at the Mullingar Arts Centre on Saturday May 18 at 8pm. Tickets are priced at €10/€8 and are available from the box office on (044 ) 9347777.
