Celebrating creativity as we age with Bealtaine 2013

The organisers of Bealtaine are delighted to announce the line-up for May 2013, which will see a fantastic variety of theatrical, cinematic, craft, photographic, choral, dance and other events taking place across Westmeath. The annual Bealtaine festival gives people a chance to celebrate creativity as we age, inviting them to ‘Grow happy!’ - the theme of this year’s festival.

Some of the events taking place in Westmeath include:

On May 16, Cill Cuan Muiriosa Foundation will display pieces at an art exhibition in Belvedere House from 6-8pm, and on May 31 the foundation will hold a picnic on Donore Lakeshore, Multyfarnham. For details contact Marian Gillespie on (087 ) 6855241.

Castlepollard Library will hold an exhibition of hand-crafted works, including paintings and homemade jams and chutneys by local people, throughout the month of May. For details contact Nicola Brennan-Gavin on (044 ) 9332199.

St Peter’s Active Retirement will host a Tea Dance, with dancing, singing, and other entertainment for local Active Retirement Association clubs in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone on May 15. For more information contact Teresa Sheerin on (090 ) 6494748.

Talks of Times Past, a reminiscence session with members of St Mary’s Active Retirement Group and Athlone Castle Writers Group, will take place on May 29 at 3.30pm at Aidan Heavey Library, Athlone. For more details contact Gearoid O’Brien on (090 ) 6442157.
