Draft county development plan to go on display

A draft County Development Plan for Westmeath is to go on public display from Friday February 1 for 10 weeks, during which time it will be open to submissions from members of the public.

The plan will guide development in the county from 2014-2020, under headings such as zoning, housing, transport, tourism, local services, water quality, industry and enterprise, and urban and rural development.

Councillors have had since November 13 to consider the plan, and met in Athlone on Monday to propose some amendments before the plan goes on display.

The cut-off for submission from the public will be April 11.
