Rugby legend Ollie Campbell to visit Burgess in Athlone

Tickets to International rugby matches to be won

Rugby legend Ollie Campbell will make an exclusive appearance in Burgess Department Store, Church Street, Athlone on Tuesday November 20 between 5pm and 6.30pm.

“A walking legend with a right boot of silk”, Ollie will be in the store to celebrate the arrival of Eden Park menswear to Burgess. Official formalwear brand for the IRFU, Eden Park is a wardrobe staple for rugby fans and customers at the event can enjoy 20 per cent off the label throughout the event.

Ollie Campbell’s exploits for the Irish team in the late 1970s and 80s are legendary. From the massive 60 points he scored during the 1979 Lions Tour, to scoring all 21 points against Scotland in 1982 to win the Triple Crown for Ireland for the first time since 1949, he was a force to be reckoned with.

For rugby fans it is an evening not to be missed. Fans can enjoy listening to Ollie wax lyrical about his days on the pitch, the upcoming autumn internationals series, the Six Nations Championship next spring as well as Irish clubs’ prospects in the Heineken Cup and Rabo Pro 12 series. There will be individual meet and greet opportunities, autograph signing and the chance to be photographed with one of the all-time greats of Irish rugby. To top it all off customers will be in with a chance to win free tickets to some upcoming international matches at the Aviva Stadium.
