Everybody no matter what age has some non-motorised wheels, so why not get out your wheels and get together with your family and friends and join in the fun by Making Tracks for the Irish Wheelchair Association.
The Irish Wheelchair Association Mullingar is inviting members of the public to take part in their Making Tracks family event on Sunday August 26. The Making Tracks event is a novel idea, asking participants to use their non-motorised wheels (including wheelchairs, roller-skates, skateboards, pushchairs, wheelie bins, etc ) instead of walking or running.
The event will start and finish in the town park, close to Annebrook House Hotel and participants are welcome to do a 2.5km or a 5km event. All interested individuals and families are asked to register from noon on the day of the event, with the event due to start at 1.30pm. Registration for the event is €5 per person or €10 for a family entry (two adults and two children or one adult and three children ). All participants on the day will be entered into a draw for many prizes from local businesses.
All funds raised through the Making Tracks event will go to the local Irish Wheelchair Association resource and outreach centre in Mullingar.
Sponsorship cards are also available by calling into the centre or calling local fundraiser, Charlene on (087 ) 2600802 or email [email protected].
