Fun and entertainment will be high on the agenda at the upcoming Mullingar Country Fayre and International Horse Festival which runs over the June bank holiday weekend.
Kicking off next Friday June 1 with the first of the horse show jumping classes, the show continues right over the long weekend, with something for all the family on each day.
Aside from the show jumping, there are a host of other equine related activities on the programme, in particular the Cossack team, who will be showing off their skills on horseback both Sunday June 3 and Monday June 4. Watch them as they stand on their saddles, then run alongside their horses at full speed!
There is also the ever-thrilling hunt chase, which takes place on Sunday June 3, as does the Puissance, featuring the Big Red Wall and there is a Western Riding Show on Monday June 4.
Saturday night will feature Irish music, while the Mullingar Lions’ Club is having a ‘Steak Out’ on Sunday night. Admission to the indoor complex is €20 and this includes a steak dinner.
Adults will have plenty of sidesshows to see over the weekend, particularly the Food Village marquee, which will feature lots of local produce. Outside there will be a falconry display, archery and basket weaving.
Dog lovers will really enjoy the free clinics being hosted by dog behaviour expert Alex Petrilli on Sunday, and Monday sees the return of the Pro Pac Dog High Jump and Mullingar Pet Hospital Dog Show. All entries will be taken on the day.
Children will be especially entertained at the show, with free pony rides, face painting, animal pet farm, Punch and Judy, and lots, lots more!
Entry for children is free. Adult admission is €10 and parking is free.
