Closing date for county plan approaches

There are just four days to go until the closing date for submissions for the Westmeath County Development Plan.

All submissions on the plan, which will guide development in the county from 2014-2020, must be made before the closing date of this Tuesday April 17.

The plan will address issues such as economic development, educational, and community facilities, recreation, amenities, and resource protection. The plan is one of the most important documents produced by the council because it affects everyone living and working in the county, and aims to reflect the broad aims and wishes of the people of Westmeath. Public participation is an essential element in the planning process.

A number of issues papers have been prepared to stimulate debate on some of the issues affecting the county. They are intended to assist in the public consultation process but do not purport to cover all the issues involved. The issues papers are available online at www.westmeathcoco.ie/cdp

Submissions may be made in writing, by email, or online. Submissions can be made in writing to Westmeath County Council before April 17 to County Development Plan Submissions, Administrative Officer, Forward Planning Section, Westmeath County Council, County Buildings, Mullingar.

Submissions can also be emailed to [email protected] or submitted online at www.westmeathcoco.ie/cdp/
