Áras an Mhuilinn open for business

Áras an Mhuilinn hosted the first Mullingar Chamber Network Event of 2012 last week.

Speaking at the event, chairman of the chamber, Camillus Glynn welcomed local businesses to the Midlands regional Comhaltas centre and highlighted the room hire and bar facilities available as well as the array of events including concerts, ceiles, traditional dance, and singing classes that are held there.

To start with Mullingar CCÉ branch members Noel Battle, Seamus Kelly, Siobhán ní Chonaráin, and Aodán O Muimhneacháin provided great traditional music. Pat Whelan, president of Mullingar Chamber of Commerce referred to the forthcoming launch of “the Gar” Mullingar’s very own currency, the creation of a new Mullingar.ie website, and the upcoming Festival of the Fires.

At the network event members introduced themselves and their businesses. Among those attending were Siobhán O’Reilly of Ulster Bank, who emphasised that excellent customer service was a special feature in their branch while Orla Duncan of Cookie Web reminded those attending that her company creates “beautiful, functional affordable websites”. Oliver Gaffey, Bloomfield House Hotel announced that in conjunction with Peter Ganly of Lilliput Boat Hire, a new boat hire service will be available from the shores of Lough Ennell at Bloomfield.

The lucky winner of the free room hire draw was Áine Gavigan of Uisneach Catering who recently started up a new business selling aloe vera products.

“I will use the room hire session to present the aloe vera products to Mullingar residents. Áras an Mhuilinn is ideally located near the town centre and there is ample nearby parking. I’m looking forward to doing my presentation evening here!” said a delighted Áine.

Upcoming special events include Strawboys Showcase from Midlands CCÉ branches on Friday April 13, admission is free. There is also a monthly seisiun, the next od which will be held on on Wednesday April 18 at 9pm.
