Chancin’ Irish Dancin’ 2012 - LARCC’s hugely successful fundraiser is back

Following on from the huge success of their novelty fundraiser last year, Chancin’ Irish Dancin’, LARCC are going to Dance it Again tonight, Friday March 30 in the Greville Arms Hotel.

Practices are in full swing with the guest dancers putting their best foot forward to raise money for essential local cancer support services. Well-known faces have very generously agreed to give up their time to train with a professional dancer, and have been practising for the last number of weeks in order to be ready for the big night.

Chancers this year include Deputy Robert Troy, popular country music singer Camillus Egerton, journalist Mary McGuire, director Paul Curley, hair stylist Patrick Havelin, teacher Avril Whitney Curraghmore, hairdressing supply shop owner Vinny Maguire, local business woman Martha Clancy, and Dessie Greene.

Kevin Lyster and the Emerald Lakes Academy of Irish Dance from Rochfortbridge have been helping the dancers get in shape. The very talented dancing professionals and mentors from the academy all generously gave their time to train the dancers and get them ready for the event all in the name of charity. Gemma, Chloe, Helen, Angela, Elaine, and Megan will be taking the dancers through their paces.

Entertainment on the night will also be provided by local set dancers and musicians, and last year’s dancers will take to the floor with a show dance to prove they haven’t lost it.

Mullingar funny man Paul Doolin will be the guest MC for the evening, and there will be a guest judging panel on the night made up of accomplished Irish Dancing Champions and last year’s winner Niamh Sheridan who certainly knows what it takes to commit to taking part.

Chancin’ Irish Dancin’ takes place on Friday March 30 in the Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar, at 8pm. Tickets are on sale from LARCC Multyfarnham and the Greville Arms Hotel priced at €10, students just €5.
