DPP directions are awaited in the case of two men charged following a fire-bomb attack on gardaí in Mullingar.
Mantvydas Uzkuraitis (19 ), Abbeylands, Mullingar and Nerijus Andriska (22 ), Lakepoint, Mullingar are both charged with possession of knives arising out of an incident in the town in December and Andriska is also charged with threatening, abusive behaviour.
Both men were denied bail in the District Court but the High Court granted bail, and having met the conditions set down, the men were released just before Christmas.
Inspector Jarlath Folan told the recent sitting of Mullingar District Court that he is awaiting DPP directions and requested the case be adjourned to March 1.
The men say they were defending themselves on the night, when it’s alleged a feud took place between members of the Lithuanian community.
