Ireland’s newest star returns to the Midlands

Last year the Irish Country Music Scene witnessed the rise of several fresh-faced young stars who have injected country music with much needed fresh talent. Now the news is out and fans are talking about a new young man from County Derry with a beautiful voice, natural charisma, and an amazing new band that means he really does walk the walk. This newcomer goes by the name of Jason McGilligan.

In the autumn of 2011, Jason took a huge step in his career that thrust him upwards and into the light. He signed a new management contract with top company Big M promotions. As part of this new adventure in which they hope to give Ireland its newest home-grown country star, Jason and his team hand-picked an all new band of well respected musicians to form the Jason McGilligan band. Each member brings not only a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table but also great showmanship.

They weave a musical tapestry that forms a show that adapts to any crowd, and covers every base with something for everyone. They take their audience delicately by the hand and glide them around the room with a carefully crafted programme of country music old and new, fast and slow, Irish and American and a few rock n’ roll and 60s sets thrown to the mix.

2012 is set to be Jason’s most exciting year so far with the much anticipated creation of a new album, several award nominations, and tours all over Ireland, and the UK with his band.

Now, at the start of this new year which holds limitless possibilities for the fiery haired Derry man, Jason and his band are set to return into The Well, Moate Co Westmeath on Saturday January 21 for their second appearance after a rip-roaring and well received debut performance last year.

Come along and see why Jason McGilligan is one of Irish country music’s most talked about newcomers.
